Designed in 1957 by USC architecture student Edward C. Malone for his friends Donald and Ruby Moreland in the "modern" post-and-beam-style. Influenced by the USC School of architecture, the recognized progenitor of this style of architecture, Mr. Malone included open beamed ceilings, Douglas Fir paneling, clerestory and floor to ceiling windows in his vision.
